Who else is excited for Summer, which is less than two weeks away? With summer vacations just around the corner, I am especially excited for going to the beach and having fun by the water. While the excitement and the focus is on relaxing and enjoying the beach, it’s important not to forget to prepare your skin for those days spent by the water. The combination of sun, salt water with sweat and use of oily products can really take it’s toll on the skin. I have used Neutrogena® sunscreen for years and with today’s post I wanted to share a few tips on how I keep my skin healthy in Summer.
Using SPF is obviously the most important step in preparing your skin for a day by the water. I usually like to apply the sunscreen an hour before I go to the beach. I have read many skin-care books and they all recommend to apply SPF at least an hour before being in the direct sunlight. So that is why I spray the Neutrogena SPF 45 oil free mist while still at home. Since it is oil free, it dries really fast on your skin. This way you can put on your clothes within a few minutes of applying it without having to worry of staining your clothes or having the SPF come off.
Once I get to the beach I like to reapply the Neutrogena SPF45 mist every 1-2 hour. I love how with the mists you can apply the sunblock by yourself even in hard to reach areas, and never have to worry about bothering others of apply the lotion to your back for instance. Not only is it more convenient but also spares time of awkwardness of asking others. This way you don’t have to ask anyone and you know your skin will be protected.
For the face instead of the mist, I like to use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Lotion SP15. It is just way more convenient for application.
One of the products in addition to using sunblock is using the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Wipes. This is one of my favorite steps. I highly recommend not skipping this step especially if you have acne prone skin. After a long day in the sun, the face can get really sweaty, which is known to clog your pores. With the Neutrogena oil free cleansing wipes you can now refresh your skin and sweep away the pore-clogging dirt and oil. I like to use this step after we are done at the beach, or if we are just taking a quick lunch break or going for some ice-cream. I know I am not the only one who doesn’t likes to walk around all sweaty looking, so using the wipes will help you feel and look more refreshed, and it will help protect your skin from breakouts.
Because your skin will be really dry after being exposed to the sun. Using the Neutrogena Hydro Moisturizer Gel will give your skin an intense boost of hydration, leaving your skin soft. The best part about the Neutrogena Hydro Moisturizer is that it’s oil free, and feels very light on the skin, and it wont clog your pores. So it is perfect for acne prone skin. I usually like to apply it after a long day at the beach to bring back moisture to my skin.

I purchased my Neutrogena products at Target. In case you have trouble locating these products they are on the Endcap display in the Make-up isle.
