Happy Friday!!! Who is excited for the weekend? If you are planning any picnic’s this weekend or sometime in the near future, then here is the perfect picnic outfit that I wanted to show you. I planned a picnic few days ago for my boyfriend’s graduation and these pics were taken literally minutes before the pour down. Sadly, we had to cancel the party because of the weather. Even though we were underneath the gazebo, being close to the water with lightning was a little scary.
The most frustrating thing was setting up the tables, the flower arrangements, decorating everything and having all to take it down 30 minutes later, before even the guests showed up. I guess I learned my lesson, when it says that there will be a 50% chance of thunderstorm on the weather forecast, then I am definitely not risking it and planning a picnic anymore.
As for the outfit. I tried to match my outfit to the theme of the party. It was a rustic vintage theme, something that is definitely reminiscent of the early 1900’s; with white flower as accent pieces. I knew I wanted to go for a lace shirtdress in a beautiful off white or winter white as some might call it. It is very delicate with a girly and vintage vibe. The skirt was a fit and flare, which is so beautiful and perfect for a picnic. Three-quarter length sleeves and the collar kept this lace dress very casual and not over the top, because that is not what picnics are about.
For the shoes I knew I wanted to wear something comfortable like wedges; going for this beautiful maroon color was a perfect choice. The color is also very vintage inspired and very appropriate for Fall as well. The handbag I went for was this tote, it went really well with the color scheme of the outfit, but most importantly it fit a lot of stuff in there that I had to carry. To complete the look I added a straw hat and wore my hair in a side braid. I thought this outfit was a perfect for picnic, it’s very classy yet very comfortable and casual.
