My New Favorite Body Shapers

I have been a huge fan of body shapers for a few years now. Ever since I discovered them they have been a staple with every look I wear. I remember one night back in College watching a documentary on celebrities preparation for the Oscars and one of the celebrity stylists revealed that one of the secret to the stars’ wardrobe fittings for the carpet are body shapers. They said that the foundation of is the most important in making any outfit look amazing on you.

For my next special occasion, I think it might have been a wedding that I attended as a guest, I went out and bought my first body shaper from Target. There was not a huge variety in colors or styles. I wanted to shape my midriff area, and accentuate my butt, but majority of them had the same thick fabric on the waist as they did on the butt area, so the body shaper would flatten my midriff but also flatten my butt 🙁 The SKIMS body shapers or as Kim Kardashian calls them solutionwear, are one of a kind design, because the midriff area has a really thick tummy control fabric and on the butt area is a very sheer fabric that does not constrict. This type of a design definitely solves a problem that majority of women have; wanting a slimmer waist and bigger derriere.

About a week before I was approached for this collaboration. I texted my friend and told her I wanted to go to Nordstrom to get one of the SKIMS body shapers. So, I was really excited when I was approached to do this collaboration. I am really impressed with the innovative design of the SKIMS body shapers. I ordered the Sculpting Short Mid Thigh and the Sculpting High Waist Brief. The seams are flat so it will lay against your skin smoothly. There is also a sticky band around the waistline that will hold the shapewear in place. I am a true size 12, and I ordered a L/XL and it fits true to size. When you take it out of the box it does look like it will fit really small, but it is extremely stretchy, and it will stretch to your body size and shape you. Also, what I love is the variety of shades it comes in. You will never have to worry about the shapewear being visible if worn with lighter clothes. I wore it under a white dress you could not tell at all that I was wearing shapewear underneath it. If you have not yet checked out SKIMS solution wear, I highly suggest you go check them out.
