…I still remember the time I first fell in love with makeup. I must have been around 2 years old, when I discovered my mother’s lipstick. Somehow by accident the lipstick ended up in my curious little hands. The moment when I rolled up the lipstick, and saw that beautiful intense orange come out of the lipstick tube, I was in LOVE, without even knowing what it was.
But I knew it had to be something special, because I have never seen anything like it before. And of course as any 2-year-old, who learns and explores the world by either putting the object in their mouth or nose. I unfortunately put the lipstick in my mouth and took a big bite of this beautiful orange lipstick.
That is when I realized that it did not taste as good as it looked. But nonetheless this experience did not diminish my curiosity as to what this thing was, or lessen my love for makeup. Later, as I got in trouble I realized that this must have been something special, and that I shouldn’t have bitten into it. But my curiosity got the best of me, and I had to try it out for myself.
As I was going through this new MAC Liptensity lipstick collection, and trying on the different colors. I couldn’t help but notice that when I first opened the box, and as I looked through all the colors in awe of how beautiful they were, that the orange one caught my eye immediately. That color brought back so many memories especially of being little and curious, and how in life you have to try things out for yourself to see what they are all about.
I tried on that exact same shade of orange immediately, and unlike how it looked great on my mother, unfortunately it did not look that way on me. I had to find my own color, the one that looks the best on me. Just like in life you have to find your own path and not follow other’s. Finally, after testing all the colors, yes you heard that right; ALL!!!
As you can see from the pictures above, I did fall in love with the following five colors; 1. eros- a warm hot pink, 2. ambrosial- bright plum pink, 3. medium rare- creamy soft pink, 4. doe-creamy neutral brown, 5. hellebore- vibrant mid tone purple. ( I am wearing the eros on my lips)
The quality of the lipsticks are really amazing; so smooth and buttery. They literally glide on as you apply them, and melt onto your lips. They also smell really good, kind of like a sweet subtle vanilla scent. This new collection is available for purchase from September 21 through November 17, 2016.
There are many colors to try out from this collection, you have to choose your own color, the one that best represents you, just like in life you have to choose your own path.
