…There is just way too many of us that are guilty of using our phones in our bed, and sometimes being on too many gadgets at once; either answering emails from your phone while working on projects from your laptop. I have at one point practically turned my bedroom into an office haha. I am sure I am not the only one.
Sometimes I wonder if this was the reason why I after I would get done with work I could not fall asleep until sometimes 2 am. I started to associate my bedroom with work. And even when I would be done with work or on the days I didn’t have any work. My brain could not just switch over from work mode into relax mode. That’s why I have done some major changes within the last year to turn my bedroom in to a calm sanctuary instead of an office. I wanted to share three things that you can do as well to turn your bedroom as well into a calm sanctuary.
Declutter
First step you should take to transform your bedroom into a calm sanctuary is to declutter from all unnecessary items that do not belong in the bedroom, especially technology. Take all electronics out and place them in a basket and take them into your office or livingroom. I am proud to say that it’s been a year since I have not brought a laptop into my bedroom. I am working on leaving the cell phone out, it is still a work in progress because I like to use it as an alarm clock. I highly recommend it this step. I know it might be hard for some of us because we basically can’t live without them. But it is so important at least to give it a try. You will be so much happier.
Decorate
Second thing I like to do is to decorate with certain key pieces that will make the bedroom more stress free. Either adding a candle or even some fresh flowers and greenery. Flowers and greenery will create a visually relaxing place. Beautiful candle will add romantic and relaxing ambiance, which will help you fall asleep easier. If you like the sound of water I also suggest getting a small waterfall for a spa like experience.
And lastly is having beautful fresh linen. Not only is the quality of the linen important but also the detergent with what you wash it with. Using Purex® Crystals Lavender or Purex Crystals Aromatheraphy scents to wash your sheets will instantly add zen like feel to your whole bedroom. Nothing is more relaxing then having your head lay on a pillow that smells like the beautiful and soft Lavander. Or as you fall asleep the feeling as if you are escaping on a sun kissed breeze to a topical oasis where exotic flowers blend with essential oils after you have washed your sheets with Purex Crystals Aromatheraphy Tahitian Breeze. The Purex® Crystals will give you 12 weeks of freshness. Also, they provide a great scent at a great price! If you have not yet had time to check out Purex Crystals, I would highly suggest you check them out!
I hope you found these few tips helpful. Leave me a comment below of what your favorite scent is from the collection or which scent you are dying to try!
xo, Emily
P.S. I purchased my Purex Crystals at Woodmans for $3.69. In case you have trouble locating the product it is located on the top shelf in the detergent isle.
