… There comes a time when everything seems to be falling apart as if the whole world is crumbling down. Thousands of things happening all at once, and maybe even some major changes we are experiencing in our life as we are trying to carry on with our everyday activities. All this hustle and bustle of life can take away from maintaining our inner peace, and steer us away from our life’s purpose. It can be hard almost impossible to find the time to step back and reflect, and see what it is that is really important to us.

During this time we are trying to do it all and be all for everyone. It can seem as though we are running on autopilot sometimes, without even processing what we are doing or where we are heading. But this is the time that we need reflection the most. I myself have felt this way for a while, and with some major life changes happening in the last six months in my personal life, which has caused me a great deal of stress and uncertainty, I knew I had to take the time for myself, put myself first and step back and away from my blog, to see what is truly important to me, and where I want to take my blog from here. Hence the lack of posts in this year. I only want to post the best content and about the things that truly inspire me, I want to create an online space to inspire and motivate others to follow their dreams and to become the best versions of themselves. If I can do it, then everyone else can!

… With all this uncertainty, one thing is always sure and that is my love for Soft Surroundings. What I love about them in addition to their beautiful dresses like this one I am wearing today, is that they understand modern women, and they specifically design for the busy lifestyle we have. We are expected to be an amazing wife, mother, friend, have a career, take care of family, and do all these while looking good. With all these huge expectations sometimes, we forget about putting ourselves first. With every piece they design they remind us to put ourselves first, because when you take time for yourself, you can better take care of those around you and thus live a more fulfilling life. That is why this dress has been my absolute favorite, this whole Spring. I have worn it with over the knee boots and scarf, and because of its versatility I can’t wait to wear it with sandals, and a straw tote for the rest of the Spring when the weather warms up.

I would love to know how you would have style it

Xo, Emily

I love how you styled this girl! If I lived in a big city I would’ve probably done this exact same look! I live in a beach town so I would probably pair it with some nude wedges or my Tory miller sandals! I would probably have either my Louis tote or a straw bag with it. xo

I love how you styled the dress! Well, living in California, I would wear nude sandals instead of boots but everything else stays! Also, love the contrast on your pictures!

Thank you dear! You are so lucky, we usually can’t wear sandals until May. We finally got some warmer temperatures these last few days. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Thank you Ilse, it was quiet an adventure trying to get these shots. The wind was unbearable, and the waves were so strong, splashing water everywhere, but somehow we managed to get some good shots, thanks to my amazing photographer. I am glad you like them. 🙂 xo, Emily

Love this post! I think you styled the dress perfectly! I also would combine it with some suede over-knees or with some black pumps and black tote for an office look. x Bettina
