…Hey guys!!!

Today I wanted to share with you, what I do to relax and how you can too with these 5 quick ways.

I was always someone who took pride in being busy, because that meant that I was not lazy and that I was accomplishing my goals. How many of you are pulling an all-nighter, and feeling very accomplished and proud of that? I must admit that I myself am also guilty of it. It is important to work hard but, sometimes we need to stop and realize that taking time for yourself is equally important. Each time you take a break, whether it is to have at home facials, or listening to your favorite song, this will help you recharge your batteries and will give your more energy and motivation to continue to work on your goals. Let’s be honest, stress and busy lifestyle is not good for anyone and it’s proven to age us faster.

The other day I was reading how Adrenal fatigue is a 21st century disease, which is caused by a stressful lifestyle. I was thinking to myself “WOW” are we really living such stressful lives that we are inventing new diseases, that were never known to mankind before?  I really got into reading more about it ever since my doctor told me that I might have to be put on cortisol for my hypoglycemia and fatigue. I started to wonder if my busy lifestyle is starting to get to my health. I decided to start making small changes that will impact my overall health, by taking just 20 minutes each day to do some of my favorite things to relax and relieve stress.

Here are 5 ways that I like to relax.

1. Music.
Listening to my favorite music is always a great idea to help me relax, especially when I am mentally drained and my mind is racing and thinking of all the things I need to accomplish for that day. It really helps me make that switch into the relaxing mode. My favorite band of all time is the young Italian operatic pop group called IL VOLO. I have been blasting them on repeat for the past year. Their music is so positive and very relaxing.

2. Make a lemonade
After IL VOLO starts to play in the background, I like to make myself something to drink, either a detox drink, tea or some lemonade like I did today. Lemons are known to cleanse the liver of toxins which can help the body relax even more. When your body is overwhelmed with too many toxins, I feel like the body has to deal with that first, and cannot fully relax.

3. Facial Mask

Another relaxing thing I like to do is apply some kind of an at home facial. Currently I have been using the facial masks from Leaders Cosmetics. What I really like about their masks is, first of all that there is no mess. They are conveniently packaged and easy to use with so many great benefits for the skin. Today I have applied the Teatree Relaxing Renewal mask, I wanted to renew my skin cells from the harsh and dry winter it went through here in Chicago. They also have a Collagen Boosting, Bluberry Superfood, Balancing Recovery, Moisturizing, and Acne Treatment masks as well, it all depends on what your skin currently needs. Not only are they loaded with great benefits for your skin, but they are super relaxing with their cooling effect on the face.

4. Paint my nails
I discovered this little trick while still in college to help me relax. Every time I felt overwhelmed I would take a quick break and paint my nails. There is something about painting my nails that is so relaxing. I would usually do this after I apply my Leaders Cosmetics Mask.

5. Pinterest
After I have prepared my lemonade, applied my TeaTree Relaxing Renewal Mask, painted my nails I like to then sit down and scroll through Pinterest. This is also another way for me to relax, just scrolling down the fashion tab, looking through cute animal photos or humor always cheers me up and puts me in a great mood, which is so refreshing and relaxing at the same time.

What about you guys do you have any tips, that you would like to share or that you currently like to do to relax?

Thanks for stopping by
xo, Emily
